How to Delete Your Account
- Accessing Account Settings: Begin the account deletion process by logging into the LaFamilia mobile app, navigating to your profile, and selecting the "Delete Account" link.
- Confirmation Process: Upon choosing "Delete Account," a confirmation request will appear. By proceeding, you acknowledge that your user account will be removed from our servers. Importantly, while the app facilitates access to your loan or layaway accounts, only personally identifiable information (PII) associated with your user account will be anonymized and deleted from our systems. Any personal data submitted during the initiation of your loan or layaway at a LaFamilia store will be preserved in accordance with your loan or layaway agreement. This ensures the irreversibility of account deletion while maintaining our commitment to contractual and legal obligations.
- Anonymizing Personal Information: We will remove all PII from your user account to protect your privacy.
- Retention of Payments: While all PII is expunged, records of payments made by the user will be retained. No PII is maintained, except for what is necessary within the Point of Sale system for managing your loan or layaway contract.
- Merchant Token Retention: We retain the merchant token associated with transactions. No PII is stored by us directly; however, the merchant, as required for billing and contractual purposes, retains necessary information.
- Completion of Deletion: A final confirmation will be sent to you, marking the completion of the account deletion process. This ensures you are fully aware of the permanence of this action.
Post-Account Deletion
- Irreversible Action: Once your account is deleted, the action is irreversible. There is no option to recover any data related to the user account that has been anonymized and removed.
- Creating a New Account: If you decide to return to LaFamilia services in the future, a new account must be created through the mobile app. You will begin anew, without access to any previous data or account history.
